Next workshop will be held in New Bedford, Massachusetts in April 2026
The 24th International Pectinid Workshop will be held from 22nd to 28th April, 2026, in New Bedford, Massachusetts (USA)
The International Pectinid Workshop has been a biennial event on the calendar of marine researchers from all over the world since 1976. The workshop is dedicated to the dissemination of knowledge concerning the scallop species of the world. Pectinids have a worldwide economic and ecological importance as evidenced by the more than 125 participants from 25 countries who usually attend the workshops.
The 24th Workshop will focus on the biology, aquaculture, reproduction, physiology, biochemistry, genetics, fisheries, ecology and economics of scallops. We encourage all individuals involved with pectinids to submit an abstract for consideration as an oral or poster presentation at the workshop.
In addition to the scientific programme, we hope you enjoy the social events we have planned. You can also enjoy historic New Beford, once the capital of the American whaling industry, now home to the nations most profitable and sustainable scallop fishin fleet. New Bedford offers many museums and activities on the waterfront and historic city center, including the New Bedford Whaling Museum and the Fisherman's Museum.
We are looking forward to seeing you in New Bedford in Apri 2026.
